2005-12-05 [Nicoda]: well you should get a lot of credit..oh and i really like the last one..
2005-12-05 [Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: No i'm not. The " :: " is what I use instead of " * " to indicate "actiontext" and explain what I'm doing/thinking at the moment. I've been using this since I started talking to people over the internet. And I still can't get used to using the stars. *tries using the stars* Nah... Not comfortable.
2005-12-07 [Analeyin]: Are these photo-based? (I mean, of course, photo-referenc
2005-12-07 [Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: Good question. (please tell us they're not?)
2005-12-07 [The Alchemist]: yes i use pictures to help me with the atonomy and the bodypose
2005-12-08 [Analeyin]: *I'm going to try and be constructively critical, but if I miss the mark, feel free to shut me up.* I was just wondering, since (even if they're loverly!), they look a little stiff and disjointed (ie, where reference ends and imagination begins). Have you ever tried cross-contour drawing? It's helped me realize volume for various things. There are some places where your shadows don't quite make sense to me and "malform" some of the features (for example, the Egyptian's chin looks too rounded and puffy, as does the area between her cheekbones and jawline). It's really a tragedy that your artwork is so grey-ed (I'm guessing, from the photos and lighting). Do you have any sort of digital photo
2005-12-08 [Analeyin]: editor? You might be able to add some strength back to the pencil that the scan/photo took away. My last bit of two-cent-worth
2005-12-08 [The Alchemist]: hmm i do see that you have some kinda point there
2005-12-09 [Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: Erm... Is depth really important? I believe it's the vision that counts.
2005-12-09 [Analeyin]: Well, depth IS important, as well as the vision. You need them both for good art. Vision is the foundation, the "spark", but then one must master the technical aspects before they deviate. Sorry for clogging up your gallery comments, Alchemist.
2005-12-11 [The Alchemist]: hmm, i grant you forgiveness
2005-12-12 [Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: But... What does depth have to do with Art? Do Picasso's paintings have depth?
2005-12-12 [Analeyin]: *continues to trespass* Picasso's paintings "have to do" with a skewed perception of life, that is, a representation of the emotion of an observation. Aha, you argue, but this is the meaning of Art, no? True enough, but the famed "Picasso style" deals in abstraction whereas, for example, Alchemists, deals in a more concrete representation of life...
2006-01-03 [Lily~]: wow... You are an amazing artist. *jaw hits floor* (just so ya know I probably won't visit again... it's amazing what you find on here when bored.*nods*)
2006-01-03 [The Alchemist]: amazing, amazing, i can draw a little yes, but amazing. there's are people who are WAY better then me.
2006-01-05 [Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: So? Most of the people are WAY WORSE than you. You're a great artist.
2006-01-05 [The Alchemist]: yea but not like i can go out and bring my stuff on the market
2006-01-05 [The Alchemist]: who's gonna buy me stuff, he???
2006-01-06 [Jino "ChaoS" Silver_flamE]: I would, if I had the money... Why not auction it on-line? You'll see!
2006-01-07 [The Alchemist]: i have no idea how much i would ask for it.
